This should hopefully boost your fps by a long shot. +exec autoexec.cfg -windowed -noborder -console -high -winxp -nod3d9ex -nojoy -processheap -directX 9.0 -full -novid -useforcedmparms -noforcemaccel -noforcemspd -w 1360 -h 768įor the -w 1360 -h 768 thing, you will need to set the resolution of your monitor into that box, if you don't tab out of the game to access recording software or whatever, this is a great choice that makes it easier to navigate. When you have Garry's Mod running, you can open Task Manager, and look for ' hl2.exe' (also could be 'gmod.exe' or something along those lines) and right click and press, 'set as priority>High' then close Task Manager and see if your framerate has improved.įirst, let's put the commands inside of the launch options, next look for the settings icon and select, 'Properties' then go to the launch options for advanced users, and paste in this.
Anti-Aliasing drastically decreases your fps, however I use 2x Anti-Aliasing because the game looks a whole lot better, any more than that is overkill for me.
I use Very High texture settings, if you have a lower end PC maybe you could set it to lower, however for my computer it seems to improve the fps for me, think its something to do with the computer not having to handle compressing the textures, you can prove me wrong though.
